My Bio

I'm an English teacher in South Korea. I'm using Godot Game engine to make video games in my spare time.

Hi, I've been putting all my finished games on GameJolt. It's a fun place to put your games with some great support for showing high score and trophies and the like. Unfortunately BBT was made with blender 2.49b which used an older version of python, so I can't set up the high scores table for that, but hopefully in the future I'll have another Battletech themed game which will have high scores and all that stuff. Here's the link: http://gamejolt.com/games/blender-battletech/76068

The project now has a name, and I've put most of the finishing touches to the title screen. This means when i start getting it ready for Alpha, there's be a nice screen to draw people in to the game. I don't want people to have to jump right in to the game map, there should be something to set the tome, and make you feel like you're actually playing a game, even at this early stage of development.

After a few false starts I got the sketchfab viewer to show up. It didn't work at first, but seems to be OK now. Here's the original model for the adventuress I posted here the other day. She was done for a competition over at Blender artist's forum in conjunction with sketchfab to create Pirate themed game art. I modified the model with some other assets to be used in my main project.

You must go into book illustration - your talent would soar!!!

Thanks!

I have considered it, but it's a hard business to break into.

All you need is an author to see and then for them to choose - I think you would do a stellar job :)

I've been approached by a few people, but since none of them are established authors, the best we can expect is a 50/50 revenue share. One of them seems promising. He's working on a kind of "choose your own adventure" story for older children that fits my talents. I'm just waiting on some better specifications for the art that he needs.

I'm sorry, but I have to reply on your comment on Lipatov's page here (you'll see why from text itself):

OK, I'm not going to argue here, the more that you are largely right. And, after all, I'm not the "professional" artist of any kind, the only reaction my pencil sketches can cause is (a bit hysterical) laugher. So, yes, as you've just said, to me the AI was a real blessing. Also, I never tried to jump into those (pointless and essentially scholastic) "new kind of art or ugly theft?" debates nor (spare me God!) tried to sell something from "my" AI-generated art.

HOWEVER I will do what I like to do, not to "steal and earn", only in leisure and for pleasure, regardless of any spiteful tantrums of anti-AI neo-luddites (didn't mean you!). As you can see from my initial comment (I myself can not, this touchy guy Lipatov immediately banned me) I didn't say anything insulting and I actually respected and followed him... and this is already the second case (first ban was from some noname, and again after AI-related post). Why are they so touchy and aggressive? I suspect this is not even about AI "stealing" their earnings but closer to pious frustration of late medieval priests who discovered the laity can read the bible without them. And their chances of success are not any greater than chances of those medieval priests to stop printing and mass literacy, or of original luddites to stop the industrial revolution. No matter how many random people will they ban.

Thanks so much for the fav!

Thank you for faving my Armadillo Lizard drawing!
